Consultancy group ALECTIA continues to grow. In 2008, ALECTIA achieved 18% revenue growth and a 26% increase in operating profit - even after a profit sharing payment of DKK 4 million to employees. ALECTIA’s earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of 5 % are satisfactory. This is the result of a determined growth strategy with a focus on profitability, acquisitions, and staff hiring.

2008 has been characterised by a number of significant events. In January 2008, the company changed its name from Birch & Krogboe A/S to ALECTIA A/S. In the same month, a new SAP IT company system was put into service to manage finances, HR and projects. In April, ALECTIA opened a new office for 150 employees at Viby Torv in the city of Århus, Denmark. In the month of August, ALECTIA then acquired its first company abroad, the UK-based Penborn Technical Services Ltd., a consulting engineering company focusing primarily on breweries and dairies. This acquisition is the sixth acquisition since October 2005.

”We are very pleased that we have met our objective of profitable growth  for yet another year and at the same time completed a name change, put a new SAP finance, HR and project management system into service, and acquired and integrated an English engineering company”, says Managing Director, Ingelise Bogason.

”During the first 3 quarters of 2008 we have had a high level of activity. We did not feel the international crisis until the last month of the year. Because of our strategy in terms of focusing on selected industries and clients, I think that we can get through 2009 in one piece with a moderate increase in revenue. I 2009 we will continue to focus on the acquisition of new companies which can contribute to a profitable growth. 2009 started with the acquisition of Maersk Construction, the building consulting services from Lindø Byg A/S”, concludes Ingelise Bogason.
